Sailing

Sailing

Teak decks
warm to the bare foot
Soft wind blowing
the sails of romance
Pure white
against a backdrop
of grey-blue skies
and cotton puff clouds

Tousled hair
framing a face
with sun-kissed cheeks
The glowing embers
of sunset
reflected in her eyes
and the delight
of sailing in the smile

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

    1. Oh you’re so sweet Sadje! Thank you so much! I wrote it fairly quickly and wasn’t too sure about it, so THANK YOU!!! 🥰

    1. Thanks Sarah. In my mind the only way I’d enjoy sailing. Anything else would terrify me 😳

    1. Thanks K! I always think sailing in warm weather is dreamy. Now fish trawling in the North Atlantic … not so much!

  1. Very nicely done!! I love the sun kissed cheeks in the glowing embers of sunset! That skin tone only happens at the moment. It tends to fade quickly. Beauty tanned by the sun … nothing like it!
