I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose.
Thanks for checking it out.

Oh, wow. This is really vivid! It reminds me of waking up after a nightmare or being stuck in sleep-paralysis; that feeling of in-between darkness but it’s suffocating. The last few lines of your poem really sum up that feeling. I enjoyed reading this piece, it’s very well written.
Thanks Lucy! You are sop kind. I actually had a dream last night where a woman was very angry at me and stood at my front door waving a prickly cactus at me 😦😳 I’m not sure what the heck it meant so It became a poem ☺️💕
Your dream world has a lot to say! The first question: how did the dream make you feel? Sounds like curious? Mystified? Maybe the dream is a message answering something you’ve been curious about or mystified by… Yes, you can tell me to shut up about my dream interpretations anytime 🙂
No I’m so interested. You were correct about the last interpretation!
This one upset me because I didn’t know what I had done wrong and this woman was being horrible and the. She turned up on my doorstep with a cactus and put it close up to me face in an angry manner. Help! 😧😳
Do you still have the tips I gave you before? Diagram it that way and see if anything pops out. Cactus to me are prickly on the outside but nice and green and full of life inside. Maybe a misunderstanding? They might mean something else to you…
Yes I still have it. I will see if I can figure it out that way. I like what you said about the cactus. My first thought was that it was a bad energy. I know in Feng Shui you should never plant cactus or pointed prickly plants at the front of a house. Maybe it was a misunderstanding but I haven’t had any. 😯
“Who waves the prickly pear
in my face?” What an amazing question!
And then….to find out hands are clawing at this person….while they’re dreaming….and finally they awaken. Thank God! But what was that????
Thanks Lillian. It was a dream I had last night. A woman knocked at my door and waved a cactus in my face because she was angry at me and I didn’t know why 😦😳 It bothered me most of today. Any ideas? LOL 🤣
You know Colleen I hadn’t thought of that. It was my dream from last night that I was writing about. I couldn’t think who I might have made so angry that they would wave something prickly at me. Of course it could be me. Oh dear …. 😦
Thanks for making me think too! ☺️💕
Christine,
I so identified with this experience: being in that no man’s land of restless sleep where every anxiety takes on an indecipherable shape and meaning. Wonderfully written.

Such a frustrating, helpless feeling — such a wonderful poem… well written Christine!
Good poem here Friend. I like your expression. Two quotes that I like concerning fear are:
Psalm 34:4
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears”.
Philippians 4:13
” I can do all things through him who strengthens me”.
While we can try to do things on our own, God is able to help us in dealing with our fears. God is able to put things in order for us and to make things work out for our good. To overcome fear, we need to put God first. God is the king and there is nothing impossible for him to do.
There is much more to know about God. I post frequently on my blog about topics related to God. You are welcome to follow my blog to keep up with my content.
Thanks for stopping by Joanne. My poem/post was actually about a dream I had. I always say dreams represent our hopes and fears, hence the title I visited your site and read your wonderful post. There are so many who need hope in their lives right now and I hope your post finds them 💕☺️
Christine. Like you rightly said dreams represent our hopes and fears, so we should pay attention to them. Your feedback warms my heart 🙏💜🧜♀️. It is very much appreciated. Thank you.

“bad” dreams aren’t necessarily bad. It’s your dream so only you can decide what it means.

For me the hard part is that it’s me waving the prickly pear in my own face with my claws. My own fears dream manifest. Thanks for making me think.

~~~ and awaken you must. Nightmares are distressing, when I have one and on awakening I wonder whatever could have prompted it. Be well, sweet dreams.
