Crowning Glory – A Quadrille

Crowning Glory

The man who would be king
rules in his own limited mind
Throwing money to those
who will acquiesce to his demands
and laugh at his repetitive,
unfunny jokes
Responding positively
to his constant need
for admiration
Kissing the ring
of the self-crowned monarch

De Jackson from Whimsy Gizmo is hosting Monday Quadrille at
D'Verse Poets and she has prompted us with the word Crown.

A Quadrille is a poem of exactly 44 words excluding the title, and tonight
it must include the word 'crown'.

    1. Thanks Ain. Yes I agree. We seem to have had an explosion of self-centered people in recent years. I blame Facebook 🤣

    1. Thanks Dora. Isn’t that the truth? It is quite sickening for a nation that never wanted a king 😦

    1. Thanks so much Carrie. You are right. It has become quite scary how ‘elevated’ some people think they are. 😧
