Summer’s Eve – A Quadrille

Summer’s Eve

As day sits on the cusp of dusk
a slight movement catches the eye
The silent, single silhouette
of a cottontail enthralls

Nibbling grass in the garden
Eyes of the hunted
moving restlessly while
appearing calm

A soothing sight
on a quiet summer’s eve

  1. You had me at the first line…stunning. So true the way they appear so still, yet alert to their predators. You captured that so well.
