Indulgence

Indulgence

Like silk on my skin
soft and seductive
an exquisite sensation
and so very destructive
Stroking my shoulders
with your nimble fingers
feathery, light
Letting the touch linger

I want to sing hallelujahs
Take me to the church
Drowning in erotica
before you I do smirch
Gloried in the commonplace
made weird, I am at a loss
for words to describe
this, which I feared

A hedonistic existence
of pleasures fulfilled
regardless of its effect
on lives to rebuild
Looking for escape
from blurred lines
unable to distinguish
or read the danger signs

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

  1. captured by sensory beauty, forgetting reality, I love your descriptions of being lost in a moment of touch

  2. I enjoyed this very much…that sense of “being and with” a certain time alone…that image of perfect harmony with your body and sorroundings just gives me shiver.
