Walking Away

Walking Away

A blustery wind
blew cold
in the early morning light
lifting the fog
of the previous night

My mood still dark
and now cold like the air
Your words disingenuous
Confusing, hurtful
The evening, tempestuous

Finding your truth
an impossible task
Offering only lip service
You are on a different page
as if under another auspice

Walking away from you
easier than it seemed
Parting a not so sweet sorrow
With the daylight comes the sun
and the warmth of tomorrow

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine
