Bad Memories

Bad Memories

Light shines through cracks
Another daily torture here
Unwelcome, disturbing
Knowing I will be taken
down memory lane
Thoughts are perturbing

Some too painful to face
Wishing I was not awake
My heart has become sore
I close my eyes to madness
praying for darkness
to consume me once more

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

      1. Thank you. Yes I should sometimes preface my poetry and state that it isn’t always representative of my feelings! I like to write for everyone so they know they are not alone in their sorrow ❤️

  1. This is really sad! I’ve a friend going through a crisis of anxiety right now, getting meds — which she fears, too — and I think she has times when she feels just like this. I’m glad to hear it’s not where you’re at now.
However, thanks for participating in the prompt.

    1. Thank you for reading. I’m sorry about your friend. I hope she finds her way out of her pain very soon. 😢
