I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose.
Thanks for checking it out.

Your post reminded me of this old song, Christine.
Oh I definitely stole the title Jim. I chose the prompt Air and it was perfect for what I wrote 🤣. At least I didn’t plagiarize the song. It was always a favorite.
Thank you Nitin. Yes, I know it was dark, but you understood it. It was about someone whose voice was never heard. She was regarded as worthless, with nothing anyone wanted to hear. But she found her voice and she was born again
I read your title and started humming that old song by The Hollies! I found myself breathing in slowly as I read the poem and felt the relief you expressed in the final lines, Christine.
Thanks Kim. I was thinking about the many who feel they have no voice. Either their thoughts are not respected or they are forcibly kept silent. Yes that song is so beautiful. I’ve always loved the Hollies.
Thank you Grace. Ive been trying to respond to your post and was getting annoyed with the Anonymous thing 😕. Your poem reminded me of Mother Nature herself. It was so lovely. Please accept this as my comment ☺️💕
Thanks Sean. That’s a thought. She is a prisoner in her own life. Whether it’s her marriage, or her culture, she has no voice. Her words have been stifled for so long. 🥲

This is a little dark, but ends on a redemptive note. I loved the sense of rebirth or renewal running through this piece.

There is something a bit scary going on here. A hospital room?
