Hidden Truth

Hidden Truth

Scars and secrets
hidden between
layers of inflicted pain
Breathing, suppurating
Invisible to prying eyes
Never to understand
the burden of their weight

To carry such load
Requiring strength
and fortitude
that could mask agonies
yet fear reprisal for
unknown sins
There but for grace go you

I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose. Thanks for checking it out. Christine

    1. Indeed Lillian. Walk in someone else’s shoes is almost a mantra for me. I implore everyone to do that before casting a stone, so to speak. Empathy is everything. ☺️💕
