As the last rays of sun stretch down to touch the earth and the final leaf falls from the tree I will still be here, waiting for you and all that it is worth
Let the darkness come and smother me with dread For I will soon know whether you will finally come or my fear will tear me to shreds
A lifetime spent in anticipation of this moment to arrive When love be requited and we are together at last so my heart will revive
I have been writing poetry since I was a child and it has helped in the good times and bad times. I am always looking within to find the answers to life's problems and to write thought-provoking poetry and prose.
Thanks for checking it out.

Oh, I can feel the desperation of waiting in this one. I want to reach in and tell the narrator to move on. Love it when a poem feels real like that.

This is well written Christine . A frustrating form of waiting. Waiting on love.

Thank you Rob! So nice of you 🙂 Yes a wait that seems endless and likely pointless. It’s how we felt as teenagers
