Connection
Find him, they said
I took the note bearing your name
Unpronounceable
I rose to the challenge
Suddenly there you were
Friendly, handsome
You knew my name too
Mesmerized
We discovered much in nano seconds
Then you were whisked away
Still holding my heartstrings

They were all standing to attention facing the same way, and barely moved.
Dancing With The Devil
Dancing with the Devil
a sadness envelops me
whenever I reminisce
beautiful memories
of far off places
promises made
and gifts given
wishes coming true
but cruelly snatched away
in a broken heartbeat
happiness turned to tears
at the snap of wicked fingers
because he could
I cry because
I know now
I was dancing with the devil
Ever-changing
Late afternoon clouds
tinged with
golden threads
of hidden sun
Silhouettes of
Whooping Cranes taking flight
Shadows elongated
into distorted shapes
Peace found in
images and sounds
