Shattered

Shattered

I pick up the pieces
of our broken life
scattered on the floor
Trying to remember
how it used to be
Not sure anymore

Continuing madness
Same, over and over
Insanity of the heart
Shattered in
a thousand shards
of mosaic art

This the aftermath
as two exploding
stars collide
All that’s left
of what was once
a coveted prize

Tygpress is a thief – Do something about it

I know I am not alone in being upset with tygpress.com and it is heartwarming to see my fellow bloggers take this seriously. The theft of our copyrighted work is disgusting and unconscionable. This is all about advertising dollars and Google ranking for Tygpress and who knows what else.

Today I entered Tygpress into the WP Reader and was amazed at entry after entry about an Indian money game showing lottery numbers. I believe WordPress has to know what is going on and will eventually do something.

In the meantime please read the links below from some of our fellow bloggers who have gone into it in more depth than I have here, and use the badge above on all your posts. You will see there are things you can do to help and protect your sites. Maybe, the Site Scrapers, Digital Ocean (the host) and WordPress will know we are serious about the theft of our work.

Song Lyric Sunday – The Sopranos

This week Jim Adams has prompted us with songs from a TV Show for Song Lyric Sunday. I was a big fan of The Sopranos (including the reruns!) and always loved this theme song. The great thing was they always played it in its entirety before the start of the show.

Lyrics
Woke Up This Morning
by Alabama 3

Well, you woke up this morning
Got yourself a gun
Your mama always said you'd be the chosen one
She said, you're one in a million, you've got to burn to shine
But you were born under a bad sign with a blue moon
in your eyes
And you woke up this morning
All that love had gone
Your papa never told you about right and wrong
But you're looking good, baby
I believe you're feeling fine (shame about it)
Born under a bad sign with a blue moon in your eyes
you woke up this morning
Got a blue moon in your eyes
Woke up this morning
You got a blue moon in your eyes
Well, you woke up this morning
The world turned upside down
Lord above, thing's ain't been the same
since Howlin' Wolf walked into your town
But you're one in a million, you've got that shotgun shine
Born under a bad sign with a blue moon in your eyes
You woke up this morning
You got a blue moon in your eyes
Woke up this morning
You got a blue moon in your eyes
When you woke up this morning everything was gone
By half past ten your head was going ding-dong
Ringing like a bell from your head down to your toes,
Like a voice trying to tell you there's something
you should know
Last night you were flying but today you're so low
Ain't it times like these that make you wonder if
you'll ever know
The meaning of things as they appear to the others
Wives, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers
Don't you wish you didn't function, don't you wish
you didn't think beyond the next paycheck
And the next little drink?
Well, you do, so make up your mind to go on
'cause when you woke up this morning
Everything you had was gone, everything you had was gone
Woke up this morning
Woke up this morning
Woke up this morning, you want to be, you want to be
the chosen one tonight
Yes, you know, because you just get help yourself
Woke up this morning
Woke up this morning
Woke up this morning
You got yourself a gun, got yourself a gun, got yourself a gun

Relinquishing

Relinquishing

Slipping into
the liquid darkness
so deep it could drown me
Allowing it swallow and
wash away the torment
It is where I want to be

Let the coldness
of the water take me
to another place
I will not be missed
Remembered, maybe
Leaving just a trace

Breakdown

Breakdown

Three days of silence
since we argued
Not unusual for us
but see no signs
of intended repair

As if charting
the breakdown
of our marriage
Transitioning
to nowhere

Dark thoughts
random yet broad
Preparing for the worst
Something, anything
Considering my welfare

Revenge – A Dizain

Revenge

Her hair long and black as a raven’s wing
Glorious, loose curls falling down her back
She walked to forget his words that did sting
Not realizing she had come off track

Stopping briefly, she put down her backpack
and stood staring up at the vast blue sky

Realizing she knew the answer why
He was insecure, she was beautiful
But did he really have to make her cry?
His actions had left her feeling vengeful

The Handmaid’s Tale – A Poem

The Handmaid’s Tale

A realization dawns
The stark reality that
I am merely a possession
A purchased accessory
a commodity, and reminding me
has become your obsession

Speechless I retreat
Wounded by your words
so blatantly delivered
Lacking kindness,
Cruel and meant to sting
Inwardly I shivered

As you threaten my livelihood
I consider the repercussions
You will offer no act of contrition
But continue to wield your power
Indignation unfaltering
You have exercised your volition

Oner Liner Wednesday

I found this very funny Far Side cartoon by Gary Larson for today’s One Liner Wednesday hosted by Linda G Hill.

I hope you enjoy it. Have a great Wednesday!

Quick Fix

Quick Fix

Stroking and exciting
Your silken touch
causing skin to react
Bodies responding
Adoration mutual
and willingly attract

In semi darkness
Writhing as one
in nostalgic fantasy
Temperatures rising
Perspiration dripping
Heights of ecstasy

When completely spent
overjoyed in euphoria
Comes sleepy contentment
Adoration is mutual
until the return
of perpetual resentment

Color Wheel

Color Wheel

One brushstroke of blood-orange
sweeping across the dark grey canvas
Silvery clouds framing, illustrating
the dramatic landscape

As the day comes to rest
the sky releases its final colors
in a spectacular explosion
and the view begins to reshape
